Web Design & Development

From one Boss to Another

My clients (and those who have been reading for awhile), know that I'm a Momtrepreneur and I've been in web development for 24 years. This incredible journey of meta tags and search engine optimization began in 1995 while I was in college. In fact, my very first professional website was commissioned by my University.

By 2002, I was married and had moved to the high tech city of Austin, Texas. The IT bust had just taken place so I (being the IT professional I am) couldn't find a job. Instead, I turned my attention to working full time from home using all of my skills in media publishing.

I averaged about 10 websites a year on top of professional writing, software building and juggling kiddos. In 2014, my oldest child was injured at school. A grade 3 concussion, vision loss, seizures and a rare reaction made my work come to a complete standstill. All of my energy went into my family and caring for her. Honestly, we were sort of a sad, scared mess.

By 2018, I was finally in a place where I could work again. So I dove headfirst back into web development and in less than a year, had worked on nearly 100 websites.

For the numbers folks that broke down to:

  • 79 on Wix.Com
  • 8 on GoDaddy
  • 2 on other web hosts

I love to work, I spend more time working than anything else. But, I was getting swamped. I had so many clients, most of them for small projects like domain setup or tutoring, that I was having the hardest time keeping them straight.

Thankfully, I managed but it was tense!

I took a break in June to spend time with my children and I used that free time to search for a great customer management program (aka CRM) and booking tool. I need things to be easier for myself, my business and my family.

I went through so many free trials and all of the tutorials. Monday, Dubsado, Plutio, Wix Booking. So exhausting!

Plus there was the cost! $35 bucks a month? $55? More!? Ermahgerd, you got to be kidding me.

Was it worth it? Maybe? Could I afford it? That was a heck no.

Then I found Book like a Boss (click the link here for a special discount!). It's not a full CRM, but it's everything I needed which was just booking.

First off, love the name. If you know me, you are aware I call myself the, "Creative Boss." So it really fit.

Second... wow, their entire approach was simple, intuitive and straight forward. I hemmed and hawed over the price because I am painfully frugal. But after testing it out for a couple months and discovering I loved it and did NOT want to pull my eyelashes off from frustration... I decided that yes indeed, they were worth the price and not only was I signing up - but I was going for the Big Boss package.

A few things led to another and now I am a Book Like a Boss Partner. Darn proud of it too.

I highly recommend them. Not only are they EASY for small business owners like us who are already working our tushies off and too tired to take an advanced course on whatever they're selling... but, the program is also affordable.

Easy and affordable? Hallelujah!

Come on, Boss. Sign up. You know you want to!

I've been programming, designing, writing and publishing professionally online since 1995. I've worn many hats throughout my life, but the common core of my career has always been media. Besides the portfolio you see on TNW Creations, my internet presence has been substantial for over 2 decades. In 1995, while still in college, I founded TNW Creations and became part of the grassroots development for teaching the Lakhota language online. By 2004, my bilingual work was listed on many sites, including National Geographic , Encarta and Touchstone Pictures Hidalgo. When I'm not designing, developing and writing, you'll find me managing MagicStoryLand.Com, creating kid-friendly game & video content, posting salty articles about cyber threats, leading Girl Scouts, moderating UnifyLife.Org and enjoying my  community, church & family.
