Bio: My name is Erin, I'm one of Wix.Com's Design Partners (previously Wix Expert) in the state of Texas. I'm also the Owner of TNW Creations, a Print & Digital Publishing Company. I'm an Army Vet and Army/Navy BRAT. I grew up throughout rural Midwest. When I wasn't helping my grandparents herd livestock and haul hay bales, I was learning to create art layouts and code before STEM and websites were a thing. I taught myself to program in DOS at age 11 in 1986 which was a big deal for a girl at that time. The first time I logged onto the internet was 1988 to download educational, "shareware" from a BBS using our newly acquired Radio Shack modem.

I studied Art & Computer Science in college and have been building websites since (1995). I have over 2 decades of experience with graphic design and web building. Besides web design, I have extensive experience with all forms of media - from print marketing to radio and writing / editing / publishing. I'm easy-going about changes, prompt and skilled. I believe in the strength of small businesses and start-ups and love helping them grow!

"There are all kinds of Wix users; first-time explorers playing around with the Editor and creating websites just for fun, small business owners managing their biz from A-Z and of course, web designers. While some designers are using Wix to present their portfolios, others are building websites for clients of their own." - Jillian Altit, Wix Community Manager

Q: Why did you join the Wix Expert Team?

Erin: I had been using Wix for myself and my web clients for many years. In 2018, Wix asked if I would be interested in joining their team of experts. I accepted and have enjoyed every minute since!

Q: Tell us about your business, how did you get started?

Erin: It really started in 1986 when my Dad's Army colleague noticed my love for his personal computer network. While the other kids glazed over his introduction to

his IBM systems and couldn't wait to leave the adults to play, I was all eyes and asking questions. He gifted me an old military field computer, the Kaypro II. I loved it and had a hard time staying away from computers after that. My first year in college, I took a job as a Tutor. I was actually tutoring Humanities and at that time, my Major was Art. My Math professors who ran the computer lab quickly discovered I was brilliant with computer systems as I was always voluntarily helping people with issues (and solving them). They slapped, "Computer Tutor" onto my list of credentials and encouraged me to switch majors to Computer Science. I was skeptical about changing my focus since Math was a plentiful requirement for Computer Science majors and it was not my forte. But after acing my Binary Coding test (according to my Computer Professor, I was the first in her over 20 years of teaching), I decided to switch. Not long after that, I ended up running the Macintosh Computer Lab and later became the Campus Computer Technician. I was over the moon! I was in charge of maintaining every Mac and PC on campus and I walked around with a floppy disk of McAfee antivirus, a wrench and screwdriver (I still have that screwdriver to this day). At that time in 1995, the school only owned about 25-30 systems. It was during my time as Computer Technician, the college also asked me to make a website for them. I had made a personal page for myself on Geocities a year earlier. My page was created with HTML and my own interactive script using the newly developed javascript as my coding language. So I developed my very first client website (and the college's very first website) and discovered that both my artistic and computer talents had found their mutual destiny in web design!

Update Jan 20, 2020: We are no longer accepting large projects from Wix as our focus has shifted to Green Technology.

Q: Of all the websites you've built, what is your favorite?

Erin: That is an easy answer - MagicStoryLand.Com. It's actually one of my own sites, but I love it because it gives families a safe online haven for clean-cut entertainment. The site is filled with fun activities for kids, from free stories to printable coloring pages to music and video playlists. My favorite part of the design is how whimsical it is! I love coming up with new ideas for that site!

Web Developer, Author, Publisher & Designer

I've been designing, programming, writing and publishing online since 1995. I've worn many hats throughout my life, but the common core of my career has always been media. Besides the portfolio you see on TNW Creations, my internet presence has been substantial for over 2 decades. In 1995, while still in college, I founded TNW Creations and became part of the grassroots development for teaching the Lakhota language online. By 2004, my bilingual work was listed on many sites, including National Geographic , Encarta and Touchstone Pictures Hidalgo. When I'm not designing and writing, you'll find me managing MagicStoryLand.Com, creating kid-friendly game & video content, posting salty articles about cyber threats and SEO, leading Girl Scouts, moderating UnifyLife.Org and enjoying my  community, church & family.
