STEM activities for Girl Scouts Austin Texas STEAM

Erin LaVaux Quarles, the CEO of TNW Creations, LLC has been working in web development and Information technology since she was a Computer Science Major and Art Communications Minor in 1995. She has produced more than 5 educational software programs, countless web development, CEO and Senior Full Stack Engineer & Media Publisher with TNW Creations, LLC, a high performing digital agency in Austin, Texas.

 

Erin is an Ambassador and member of Google's Women Techmakers, AnitaB.Org, the Systers Community, Society of Women Engineers and is an 11 year Girl Scout Leader with multiple awards and recognitions from the Girl Scouts of Central Texas. Erin has led several private web development and cyber security workshops workshops for local Girl Scouts in the Austin area and took her courses online in 2000. Erin has extensive experience in a variety of coding languages and design software and has been in business since 1995.  TNW Creations web development services span the globe.

 

As a proud Texas Army National Guard Veteran and an Indigenous engineer, Erin endeavors to continue the crucial process of closing the gap for females and minorities in the area of STEAM. 

 

We wish to continue to be an example that girls and minorities can make a indelible impact on technology. Erin is an enrolled member of the member of the federally recognized Native American tribe, Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. Erin works in cyber security under Tawaci, a brand of TNW Creations. Tawaci means,  "Mind: Will, Understanding, Disposition, Purpose, Imagination, Instinct, Mentality, Talent, Wisdom, Genius" in the Lakota language. Erin has worked hard to make her way in the realm of technology as a female minority and continues striving to empower girls in technology.   


Attendees must be registered Girl Scouts. Along with learning a variety of web development techniques from HTML to WYSIWYG to cloud based platforms, each Girl Scout will earn a STEM or STEAM badge or patch depending on which workshop the Scout attends..
